Exclamation the real deal...

Ok, I have something to say about this whole thing. I think the people from the tail section have not seen the "monster", or mapinguari, or what ever. They havenīt, because they didnīt show us they did. I think that they were attacked for the exact same reason. What if they were on a place of the island that is not protected by the security system and THAT is why they were attacked by the others the first night! And what if... the people that took the kids arenīt actually bad. Goodwin said that the kids were fine. I think they are.
We all know that the island is probably a place in the middle of nowhere were the people of the hanso foundation or dharma are doing their experiments. But a lot of people is against that kind of experiments. What if some of the people that were being experimented with, or, even some of the people working on the projects, revolt and kind of took over the island. That way we have 2 kinds of others. The good ones and the bad ones. The good ones, would have taken the kids to protect them from the people who are responsable for the experiments.
I think i have answers to a lot of other things from the show, but i donīt want to write too long, so this is it. If anything... iīll be writting soon.

Re: the real deal...

I agree with you on the fact that the survivors from the tail end haven't seen the monster. Part of what made me think this is the fact that Ana said, "Remember what happened to us? What they did to us? You remember Goodwin?" when we later found out that she killed him. I do think that these survivors have seen the Others, but not necessarily the monster.

I also like your idea about good others and bad others, which presents the question of if the good others are taking the children for their safety why aren't they trying harder to explain to the parents why the child would be safer with them? Just a thought to consider.

Re: the real deal...

That's not what she said...

LIBBY: Maybe if we just rest a little while, he'll regain consciousness.

ANA: Rest? Here? Do you remember what happened to us? What they did to us? You remember Goodwin?

CINDY: Ana's right, maybe we should just push on.

So...she merely IMPLIED that the Others killed Goodwin.

Re: the real deal...

All the Tailies know Goodwin was an Other. She said when she cut off Bernard's radio conversatio with Boone:

Episode 2.07, The Other 48 Days:
[Ana takes the radio.]
BERNARD: No, wait a minute. What are you doing?
ANA: It's them. [She turns the radio off] It's them. They're trying to draw us out -- trying to find us.

BERNARD: No, he said 815; he said flight 815.
ANA: They know our flight number because Goodwin knew our flight number.

Re: the real deal...

I don't think she implied it..I think she was saying that they weren't safe anywhere...Goodwin tricked them into thinking they were safe...or something like that...

Re: the real deal...

Ah, thank you for correcting that dialogue. I meant to imply that they had seen the Others but not necessarily the monster...post editing time.

Re: the real deal...

hahaha, we were just talking about the tailies not even knowing the monster... that dialogue has nothing to do with the subject. But iīm telling ya, iīm not so sure goodwin was "bad"... if you analize what he said about himself and all, i think i could be right on that.

I also used to be normal, until this damn show came up!!

bye!

Re: the real deal...

If Goodwin was "good", why did he attack Ana? why did she have to defend
herself? seems like it was her or him, with him being the instigator of the
attack.

I was under the impression AL attacked Goodwin after he made that smug "they're better off now" claim about the children.

Yes, Ana did attack Goodwin first, but it seemed to me that Goodwin would have hurt/killed her, if she had not fought back against him.
