I am glad you started this thread, I was going to start one in response to the p.13 vol.2 article "Lost Online". First of all, I DO NOT LIKE the official site! oceanicflight815.com since it
DOES NOT HAVE A BAR CODE FOR CODE ENTRY (hasn't for over a year!) as "advertised" in your article.
Also, the season 2 official site ends in .org NOT .com as your error states.
http://www.thehansofoundation.org/activeproject.html
I keep checking every so often looking for updates. (Is Joop from the life extension project memo at
http://www.thehansofoundation.org/lep.html a clue about the "monster"? This is an official site registered to Disney/ABC/Touchstone)
On the next list, you need to designate "official site" versus "fan site" so that viewers can muse the validity and source of "spoiler" info.
My absolute favorite Lost Site is
www.lost-media.com; I love this site because friends from Canada host video and post URL links to "preview videos"-different in Canada than in USA and the canadian promos often reveal spoiler info
.
www.lost-media.com is a sister site and often has great still shots in the photo gallery (released by abc media net-which is a good site-but only accessible to members of the media! lost-media gives the public access to the promo photos first). I remember the episode where Cindy disappears from the party, just as the party crawls across "the blowhole" geographic feature on Oahu. I had been to the blowhole on a family vacation, forwarded my mother this picture, and now my mom and I exchange lost theories and info every 3-4 days! So I've gained a better relationship with family from the tools on this awesome site! I also love spoiler info and recommend
www.spoilerfix.com, the "ask ausiello" page of
www.tvguide.com and E! entertainments chat with kirsten section of
www.eonline.com (sometimes E! outscoops the fuselage with exclusive video interviews-recently with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse). Spoiler seekers must avoid
www.imdb.com since the information contained is submitted by viewers and not confirmed through industry sources (several false spoilers in the past-episode synopsis at IMDB mentioned a Rousseau appearance this season that has yet to happen as "spoiled" by IMDB)
Lastly, I find myself visiting the
www.abc.com Lost official website WEEKLY since they introduced a new feature-
PODCASTS! The thanksgiving show had a 42 minute podcast that served as director commentary and could be played simultaneously with the broadcast (so if you have a DVR/VCR and a PC (mp3 format can be streamed-you dont need an ipod) like a DVD (video with alternate commentary is my favorite dvd feature-i can't beleive this is FREE!) I also missed a few minutes of "what Kate did" and will be visiting the Apple store
http://www.apple.com/itunes/(part of my computers Quicktime player) to download that episode to PC (for only $1.99 whatta bargain!) Maybe creation/titanmagazines could publish the itune Lost download URL's in exchange for an advertorial or advertisement from Apple (and cut the cost per copy to $4.99-mag is way to expensive with current content-especially when you consider that all this content is
FREE for DOWNLOAD! at a public library)
