Sit, Vincent, Sit. Good Dog

I think it is funny that even though Vincent is a dog -- all the other characters react to him. The way that he came running when Michael returned or when he used to hang around Shannon all the time. It was a good way to reveal information about various characters.

He seems to have reacted with a few people on the island, namely, shannon michael walt and it seems only natural that the dog would run to michael, as most dogs do get excited when their owners return after they have been gone for a while.

Re: Sit, Vincent, Sit. Good Dog

As a former Labrador owner, I can confirm that Labs get very excited when their owners return. lol

I think Vincent is as important (or will be) to the storyline as the rest of the survivors. Afterall, there was no reason why Vincent had to survive the crash as we hadn't seen him before the crash until flashbacks. As a result there was no need for the writers to think "we can't kill the dog off" in order to protect peoples' sensibilities, as happens in most big-budget mainstream movies.

My thought centres around Vincent being the first character Jack sees in the Pilot. I reckon Vincent knows as much about the Island as anyone, it's just getting the information from him that would be hard!

I hadn't thought about the fact that Vincent is one of the very first characters Jack sees. I think you are right; he survived for a reason.

Re: Sit, Vincent, Sit. Good Dog

Does anyone think that who Vincent gravitates to is significant?

I hadn't really thought about it. He spends most of his time with Shannon, Walt, Michael, Sun, and the first person he sees is Jack. Do they all have something in common that he is drawn to?

Re: Sit, Vincent, Sit. Good Dog

does anyone think its weird that Walt was kidnapped, Michael went crazy and ran off, Shannon died and Sun gets injured in a failed kidnapping attempt.

These all happen to the people Vincent is most around.

It's interesting certainly. Not sure what to make of it - it could all be coincidence, although with this show I tend not to believe that.... ever.
