Maternity Leave, Kate has a gun when she goes out and finds the new bunker. I think Kate will possibly convince Sawyer to give her a gun. It might not be a lovey-dovey conversation... but it could be. Or she could have tracked down the guns and stolen ones for herself and Claire, which would really piss of Sawyer.

It's kind of impossible for me to give you my thought without divulging what I wrote in tha spoilerfont... so let me just say... based on a picture from an upcoming episode, I think that Kate and Sawyer are either going to have a pretty good reconciliation or she might end up betraying him like he betrayed her. I will say this: the picture is not of the two of them together. I am inferring information from something sort of tangential. I almost feel guilt writing all that... yikes. I hope that was nondescript enough!

I think you conformed to to rules of the board quite well Cool theory I hope it plays out. I just wasn't expecting that after what happened this episode.

Danielle shows up again, who's to say she doesn't provide the guns? She had 2 rifles in her bunker, Sayid left his in the jungle minus the firing pin but Danielle probably has that, just in case. Are we starting to see why Danielle might have started removing firing pins?

the rifles definitely seem more powerful. I would bet, if there really is an illness, that Danielle can tell if someone is affected. She, of course, told Sayid to watch them all closely. We don't know what she meant by that, but I'm sure she had something specific in mind. It would be interesting if the males were affected first. But since we don't know what the illness is, it's hard to speculate.

Yes. The REASON he said that to Michael is the very same reason he
grabbed the guns.

It's all about keeping emotional distance from his fellow Losties.

He learned from the whole Cassidy affair that he can't afford to get
emotionally involved. He is starting to bond with these people, and
even to really care about a woman again. He simply can't let that
happen, so he cons them all.

Now, THEY won't trust him, and will keep their (emotional) distance. Problem solved.

I believe that Sawyer wants the emotional distance but using Cassidy as an example? He still chose the $600 thousand over her. I don't call that love. Now, if Cassidy managed to out con him, then Sawyer would have had a lesson in not getting emotionally involved because it screws up your game. I feel like The Long Con hasn't ended yet.
