Hmmmm, i rewatched wtcmb, and noticed some things durning the end. i think its important in the order that they happen.
shannon realizes the french words
are from a french song. that song talks about meeting your love one on shores far away.
rose tells charlie that her husband is not dead, and that she just knows. sounds very significant. she said "He'll be back" and that "Theres a fine line between denial and faith" "Its much better on my side" and tells charlie " Im not the one that can help you"
shannon then explains the lyrics to syied,
you then see kate, looking over the item that belonged to the one she supposedly killed.
.hmmmmmmmmm seems like tons of foreshadowing if you ask me. just a thought.
The song Shannon sang was NOT the Bobby Darin song "Somewhere Beyond the Sea".* It was a French song "La Mer", which says absolutely nothing about any "love" waiting any where.* It is simply a song/poem about the aspects of the ocean.* The lyrics have been posted here several times.* Also, the lyrics to "Somewhere Beyond the Sea", just to illustrate how different they are.*
Luv is right. That dang song has driven a bunch of us nuts.
There are two versions of the song. Bobby Darin's and the original french songwriter Trenet's.
Don't let that deter you, though. I'm finding, the more I read, there are many references in the show with multiple meanings. Which suggests, that for many of the "clues" we find, some will have different significances, all relevant, but seen or perceived in different ways or languages. ...In Translation? I favor the idea that Trenet's version is a clue about the island and Darin's version is about Kate, or Rose, or Sayid.
Interesting conclusion you have there. Unfortunatly for me, I had never heard of La Mer until Shannon sang it... I'd better do some research on this topic.
yeah... i enjoy looking back at episodes because you find stuff that had foreshadowed something else and your like...HEY! or wow i misinterpreted that! you know? and now that some things are cleared up we can look for new clues that we missed
The only thing i dont get is Shannon said that she remembers the song from the end of that computer animated fish movie (Finding Nemo) The version at the end of that movie is not 'La Mer' but in fact 'Beyond the Sea'

'Oceanic Flight' is an anagram for 'CIA clone fight'

Well, Shannon said that she had seen the movie in France (her boyfriend's son watched it). I would assume that the Frence version of Finding Nemo would use 'La Mer' instead of 'Beyond the Sea.'
