Wow. This is what we get before a two week break? Gotta be kidding me. Oh well....it was good, but I expected more....as with EVERY episode But I'll keep watching of COURSE! HEHEHEHEHEHE!
One of my least favorites. Nothing against Rose & Bernard, but there wasn't anything surprising, or even terribly interesting. I don't see anything wrong with Bernard trying to "do something" and thought Rose was pretty unlikable in her treatment of him, both before and on the island. Before Australia, she didn't seem to have communicated to him that she had made peace with her situation, or he might not have gone for the faith healer. She was pretty rude when she found out why they were there.
And I just don't feel any chemistry between Jack & Kate --I actually cringed when it looked like they were going to kiss. I am glad Michael finally showed up again, though. His absence has been too conspicuous.
I didn't like this episode. It was too Jack-Centric. I thought Jack was unneccessarily snotty to Sawyer on the beach when he asked Kate to go with him to search for the others. I would think the more the merrier. Plus the scene with the net seemed very contrived.
I also didn't care for Rose in this Episode. She was good at the begining but I felt she ought to have been more supportive of Bernard. She has had a long time to deal with her cancer. Bernard has had much less time. I actually thought building the rock SOS was a good idea. Then again, I'm a do-er so Bernie's approach worked for me.
The whole church seemed bugged me. Not because it was a church, but because it seems a bit like the authors are shoving the religious aspects down our throat. Who cares if they are building a church? Something about the scene and its revelation seemed poorly written and forced. It didn't really run smoothly into the story.
I agree with a lot of what Fuyuko said. It also bothers me that the s.o.s. idea didn't happen earlier. Even if there are a couple of people who don't want to get rescued (Rose, I would bet Locke, ..) the majority still should. Not just that but, why are they building a church when they're essentially in still in survival mode? Meh. Other than Rose and Locke having that moment, and the return of Michael this episode was nothing but filler. I'm thinking after I saw the preview for this episode last week I could've not watched it tonight and barely missed a step.
This episode was a total yawn. Totally boring. People talking about all the new stuff we learned? Come on! NOTHING HAPPENED. Michael isn't even back yet - we just saw his face. He will be "back" next week, if the execs decide to pay attention to the worthwhile storylines instead of sappy-crappy meanderings through the generally-irrelevant story of Rose and her husband.
On that topic - Rose sucks. Least compelling character ever.
let me start off by saying that although for the most part i liked the episode, i agree with what SkiBumDan says; i hate when i can pretty much figure out everything that went on in an episode from the preview. i loved the kate/jack scene, i liked the rose/locke interaction, and i liked the ending when michael came out. the rest of the episode was kind of boring, though, and i couldnt help but feel "when is something cool going to happen?" a pretty good episode, but a bad choice to show it right before a 3 week break
