Locke's dad = the real sawyer?

so i think after this episode its pretty clear that anthony cooper oculd in fact be the real sawyer. i mean....$700,000 is a pretty big con!! any thoughts? think we have enough info to go for or do you want it to be explicitely stated?

Absolutely! I was wondering about John's dad being "Sawyer". If we look at the way he manipulated his own son so heartlessly, it is clear that he is capable of anything. But...do the ages match up, do you think? Locke is quite a bit older than Sawyer,,,would Sawyer's mom have gone for Locke's dad and so on....

Im guessing Helen might be working with Locke's father... after all Locke wouldnt have gone to the cementary had Helen not pointed out the obituary

Yeah, I've read the theories about Locke's dad being the real Sawyer and the second he started talking about a con, I started thinking those theories are right. It would be almost too much of a coincidence for this other random guy to be a con man too.

thats a very interesting thought locke was ready to forget him and get on with his life....then helen pointed it out.....did locke ever tell her what his dads name was anyways?

Oh yeah, I totally agree that Cooper and Helen were working that long con together. Although, after the kidney thing, I don't know what the point was of continuing it. Would Helen have known that all those months (years?) later that Cooper would be trying to get $700,000 out of the bank? Oh, and in my mind (at least right now) Cooper = Hanso = the original Sawyer.

precisely... especially since she didnt seem to follow locke there... since he was looking around and making sure no-one was following him

I doubt Helen was in a long con with Anthony, mostly because i dont see what they would have gained from it. Locke didnt steal the 700,000 he just retrieved it for his dad, and if Helen was working for Anthony she could have just went and retrieved it herself.

But we definetly got confirmation that Anthony is a con man by nature, the kidney deal wasnt a one time thing.
