I'm suspicious that Henry actually entered the code. He certainly committed the code to memory suspiciously fast, and was then hit on the head to the point of unconciousness. Then, the counter comes close to expiring (or expired?), we see the funky blacklight map, afterwhich the blast doors come up (why were they down in the first place?), and the clock is reset.
Did anyone else leave with the impression he didn't enter the code?
Lastly, did letting the timer run out produce the effect of the food drop, like a GIANT SKINNER BOX REWARD?
I have NO idea!! I am wondering if henry typed in the numbers at all... how could he remember them so quickly, i know i couldnt! I doubt that he crawled all that way, dropped down into room with the comp.. went over.. put the numbers in RIGHT... hit execute... and crawled allllll the way back up into the vent... and drop down into the pantry before the blast doors even opened? impossible!
And what was the noise that immediately preceeded the doors coming up, lights coming back on, and normalcy restored? I thought it was Gale entering the numbers, but who knows.
What I also wondered was, what was happening on the timer side of the doors? Did the scary red numbers flip around again? And the black light was the reaction on the other room that we didn't see before?
Yes, many questions. I'm very suspicous of Henry and the numbers... since I already thought he was an Other, when he remembered the Numbers that quickly, that was pretty telling, I thought....
I don't think he had time to get over there, enter the #s etc. etc.
I mean, where was he when Locke was calling for him? Why was he away from Locke for so long and then kind of snuck up on him quietly without saying anything?... Where was he really?
Did the hyroglyphics show up on the timer again?
When the hyroglyphics showed up in the other episode, did the black lights turn on?
Do the black lights only turn on if the blast doors are down?
Do the black lights only turn on if the timer runs out and the blast doors are down??
There are too many variables!!
If the timer has to run down for the black lights to turn on, then someone down there let the timer run out a lot, because they drew a pretty intricate map with a lot of words on it.

"We’ve basically been feeding the audience crystal meth for a year, to cut them off cold turkey and give them a pack of chewing gum and say, “We’ll give you more crystal meth in Season 6,” would have been a disaster. When you piss off a junkie, they will do almost anything to get their drug." --Damon
Henry obviously knows the numbers because he is an "other". I believe he typed in the code because pushing the button is good for the others, and bad for the losties. The food was dropped when the blast doors closed. The blast doors closed to protect the hatch.
I just had a strangest feeling when Locke was giving Henry the numbers that that was exactly what Henry needed to know. It was just the look in his face. Now that he has them possibly they can change them from that hatch without Locke knowing. Gosh I was yelling, no don't give him the numbers, So far, he's not Henry, so now we're going to get to beat every possible theory and idea to bits until we come up with who "this guy" really is. When he said he did put the numbers in and hit the execute button, within 10 seconds the lights went out and he found his way back to Kocke, I smell a mousetrap

Hmmmm . . .
My thoughts EXACTLY! There is no way he could have remembered those numbers so quickly and after losing consciousness. He's obviously lying about who he is now..Surely an OTHER.
This is what happens when you dont press the button.
I think Henry never pressed the button.
After Locke crawls into the computer room they pan to the clock and show it go to 107, if you rewind exactly a minute it will tell you when the clock reset. This happened long after the last chance for code entry. When the numbers were not entered they were shown the map via blacklight. And like any good rats that figure out part of your puzzle you give them a reward...the food drop. Once the numbers were not pushed and the map was seen it can be taken from the experimenters that the people in the hatch now have a clue that this is a game/experiment/test.
Why else would the food be dropped so close to the hatch and have a light on it.
Some are saying that the hatch locked down in order for the food to be delivered, but what would be the benefit of locking them in just to drop food that they could walk righ out and get.
I think something else triggered the lockdown and would they have been able to hear the announcement and been in the computer room they would have been able to get more info from the voice on the speaker.
Re: This is what happens when you dont press the button.
If I remember, though, the loudspeaker came on, and it appeared to me that the counter had stalled out at 47.00, or was that a different time?
The only problem I can see with your theory is that Dharma, the experimenters, would surely know that Henry is in the hatch with them, has been captured. Wouldn't his mere involvement in the hatch nullify the "experiment" results? In other words, their "treat" wouldn't have been deserved because Henry helped them achieve it by not pressing the button?
And one benefit to locking down the hatch before making a food drop could be so that the island's / hatch's inhabitants couldn't see HOW the food got there.
