Supply Drop - No Plane?

I hope this seems rational... The supplies were attached to a parachute, meaning they were dropped from the sky. Why on earth wouldn't anyone hear the engines of the airplane or helicopter that dropped it? I mean, I've been DEEP in the woods before, you hear every little noise anything makes... how could they miss a plane flying overhead?

Especially after being stranded on an island for a month and a half. I know that I would be on the look out for any possible sliver of evidence that an airplane is near.

I wondered the same. Who knows. My only guess is that it wasn't an airplane at all.

Or, maybe he dropped it from his secret space station?

Or, a trained flock of birds flew it across the ocean, then dropped the parachute right over the Island!

Anyway, at least we know where Hurley's been getting his stash! But it wasn't right for him to keep the drop a secret. Guess we'll cover that next week, huh?

I was wondering the same thing too! You'd think that follks would have seen a balloon that close to the beach! Airplane's out of the question because of the noise factor... Hang glider would run into the same thing...Teleporting? Why the parachutes?
