I loved the Bernard and Rose backstory. I love that they are newlyweds, because the way she was so sure Bernard was alive all that time led me to believe they had been together many years. Totally took me by surprise. And they way they dealt with her illness rang so true.

But as for arriving together on the island, this is something that has perplexed me for some time. Did anyone not traveling alone lose someone in the crash? Rose and Bernard, Boone and Shannon, Walt and Michael (and even Vincent), Scott and Steve, Kate and the Marshall, the brother and sister from the tail section...all survived in pairs, at least initially, even when not seated anywhere near each other on the flight.
