It was a short scene that could easily be missed or forgotten considering all that happened in this episode. I think it was a hint from the writers, that they will be closing again by the end of the season?
I think Locke's been pretty preoccupied with thoughts of the blast map (drawing his own diagram from what he could cull from memory). I'm assuming he's checking out the blast doors, wondering if he can get them down himself, or hoping they'll drop again in order to see the bloody map again! I'd be checking out the functionality fo the loudspeaker as well.

I don’t think that indicated that the doors ARE coming down again soon, only that he’s still interested and intrigued with the map he’s seen on the door. Obviously it’s going to play a role in future stories, if not this season then next for sure.
Either that or just the opposite. He's gonna try and find a way to plug the doors so that they dont drop again. If it happend once, it can happen again.
I think the fact that it was such a quick scene, and easily missed/forgotten, means that it's just there to keep that issue from being forgotten. The map on the blast door is going to prove to be very important as far as certain characters stories are going to go. They can't just show the door and then not talk about it or make reference to it anymore. It's too close to the end of the season, and the map is asking, and hopefully answering a decent amount of questions.
Well it's a clear hint that Locke is seriously intrigued by the map (hell seems like Locke is the only one intrigued by ANYTHING in the island) and that he would be happy finding a way to take that one blast door down for a while.
I find it funny that Jack and Locke made an agreement to inform each other of what they're doing, and then Locke doesn't even tell Jack about his work-in-progress map! I thought for sure that they would band together and try to figure the thing out.
Sometimes it's best to let sleeping confusion lie.

Re: Locke Checking the Blast Doors
I thought the camera shot showing the ceiling around the blast doors was interesting. The concrete on the concave side of the door (the living area) was lighter and had deep scratches in it, while the concrete on the convex side of the door appeared either darker or in shadow, possiby evidence of some past incident that blackened the concrete outside the blast door?
I'll edit this post with a link to a screen shot if I can find one on Lost-Media - the site is swamped right now.
