It would be nice if Kate chose an equilateral triangle but she may go for an isosceles, perhaps even an obtuse isosceles (which may make it more scalene but who's counting?).
So will the Euclidians out there be upset? What about the Pythagoreans? Hopefully they won't stop watching the show (though who can tell about the Cevanennes). I think all sides will be able to coexist. It's going to be exciting to see.
BEAUTIFUL, Gregg! You really outdid yourself this time! I'm still !!
I'm wondering--how do you feel about the way the "evolution" of The Others is going? I don't want plot details. Just: is the continuity fitting the story told so far? A lot of us are upset that
Spoiler:
there are no Other-centric eppys in the first six-eppy "miniseries."
I can't understand how you can call this "The Others' season" without showing at least some of Their backstory. I guess you LOST folks don't really want us beginning to understand Them until after the eppys resume in February. Just like the lostaways don't "get" Them and Their actions against them. I know this is supposed to be a matter of perspective. For instance, I hated Jin for half of Season 1; I've loved him ever since "In Translation." But he's one guy; this is a whole group of people who have done so much bad stuff (and yes, it's bad stuff--I can't see how They, or you folks, can justify it). I'm just baffled how you folks think we viewers can do a 180-degree turn and learn to sympathize, even like, these people--even if you take a whole season "working" us!
But I'm blathering. My question remains: is the development of The Others as people fitting continuity, in your opinion? Will your goal of making Them more acceptable (even if it's only grudgingly so by people like me) be based on credulity, given the story so far?
Thanks again for coming here and talking to us. And keep up the amusing non-answers! That's half the fun of coming to your board!
Thank you. I'm glad someone got it and was amused.
The question of the development of the Others is really based on one thing: what you guys think is going to happen in the first six episodes. A good many of you have seen me lurking in the spoilers section, so you know I'm reading the same thing you are.
Let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time spoilers were leaked on the net that included episode titles, writers, directors, shoot dates and roles for upcoming episodes. Fans were very smart and perceptive, and they were able to guess weeks in advance what the episodes were about. Much like a cop show, we were able to work backwards and figure out where the leaked information originated. There is a service that helps distribute casting breakdown information, and we realized the information leaked was the information released in breakdowns. So if we changed the information in the breakdowns, maybe the foiler information would be leaked. And lo and behold it was.
So what do you think the moral of this story is? One guess could be that in three weeks a lot of fans who think they know what's going to happen will find themselves... lost.
I want to apologize, Gregg. What I wrote you clearly struck a nerve, and that wasn't my intention. I enjoy your good humor in dealing with us rabid fans, and I'm sorry if my concerns came off as arrogance or antagonism.
I am concerned about whatever is about to happen. But I know all of you VIPs are doing the best you can to give us your best-quality product.
You keep up your good work; I'm going to find a rock to hide under. But I did want to apologize for letting my frustrations get the better of me.

No need for an apology. You didn't upset me at all. The tone didn't come through as intended, but I was trying for amused detachment. Come out from under the rock. It's okay. Besides, there seems to be a lot of interest in this thread. I wonder why...?
