Hidden Clues

It's been said that there's hidden clues in the first seconds of the pilot that no one has noticed yet. As has been pointed out this episode has a similiar scene as the pilot in that Jack in the pilot and Locke in this episode are both lying on the ground and open their eyes.

Now i may just be crazy or seeing things or possibly both but, in the pilot, if you look at Jack's eyelid there looks to be writing on it, numbers and possibly letters also. When he opens his eyes there seems to be images there that shouldn't be. This could be
  • Verification that i am crazy.
  • Reflections of the film crew.
  • The hidden clues that have been mentioned.
In this episode when Locke opens his eye there seems to also be images that shouldn't be there, part of it looks like an explosion to me. There may also be writing on his eyelid before he opens his eyes but it's kinda blurry.

To really notice this you have to freeze the frame and use frame advance. Someone with high definition may be able to see it better.

So, does anyone else see these things or am i just crazy?

Re: Hidden Clues

It would be great if someone with HD could try to get a screencap.

I tried looking for it in "Further Instructions", but so far I'm not seeing it. Is there an exact time where you notice it?

Re: Hidden Clues

Well it's right at the beginning of the episode obviously when he opens his eyes. If you not looking closely it looks like a white spot on left side as you're looking at the screen and on right side it looks like an image of a person.

Re: Hidden Clues

I haven't heard about hidden clues, but what about the writing on Eko's stick: "Lift up your eyes and look north John..."? Could this be the clue?

There was a thread in 'general theories' last year that examined Jack's eye and pointed out numerous images in it. It's an interesting read. I can't remember the title ( I think the word images was in it. of the thread but if you do a search it was around sometime between Jan -Apr 2006.

Re: Hidden Clues

I've just looked at the first episode. Theres a quite obvious black object maybe its a torch (flash light). There is also a strange ring to the right of him, that isn't that small. It could be an exotic plant though. The final, and most amazing one, as said above is the head that is quite clear to me.
It seems like an upside down head, or a head that is attatched to a body that is lying low under the roots and stuff.

If you also pause at 1min35 you can see a cabel amongst the shoots above jacks head to the right.
