Re: alcatraz

Nope, not a chance. It had to do with reminding Sawyer that he was on an Island that was a prison and that there were at least two Islands. Also, Ben is King of the Con! He's King Con!

Re: alcatraz

I actually thought for a moment that Ben was showing Sawyer the mainland; since none of the Losties has ever bothered to pace out the island to see what's visible from its various shores, never mind to make sure that it even is an island to begin with.

The guys on the raft would have noticed if it wasnt an island when they drifted away back in season 1.

Why the Alcatraz comparison?

Isn't it interesting that Ben is comparing the others island to Alcatraz? I mean I know he was using it to compare sizes of the islands, but alot of imagery comes to mind when thinking of Alcatraz. So, does anyone think that The Others might also be some sort of prisoners as much as wardent to jack, Kate and Sawyer? Also interesting that Sawyers flashback was in prison and ended up working for the warden. On a side note Sawyer looked damn good in prison.

I was thinking this briefly as well, when he mentioned Alcatraz. Before he indicated that he was comparing the size, it seemed a bit like he was about to say the island is right next to the mainland.

Re: alcatraz

So no one else thinks that the others might also be prisoners as well as jailers?
