What if it isn't an island?

We don't know it's an island FOR SURE. Everyone keeps calling it that for convenience sake, but what if its part of this huge land mass? What if civilization lurks just over the next hill?

Still, its more romantic to think of it as an island (romantic in the storytelling sense, not the lovey sense). Again, I guess we'll see, huh? What do you guys think?

I believe it is an island. If there were people there before our LOST survivors, which we are to believe there were, they would not be there. No French transmission, no Adam and Eve, etc... Viva la Claire.

I concur, this is not a land mass nor is there a civilization on theis island. I thought the entire world had been discovered but for the shows sake, this is a land that has not been found yet.

Maybe it's a psychological construct a la The Cube. Gosh, I love that movie...

Re: What if it isn't an island?

I think its an island due to the fact that a huge land mass would have at least some plane action and/or shipping taking place.

Although if we go with the alternate reality deal it could be a whole continent....

Re: What if it isn't an island?

Hmm.... my parents and I have had some conversations contempleting this...

But I highly doubt it, because it's been a couple of weeks since the plane crashed and you would have to think if they were on a larger land mass with real civilization, then wouldn't they already have been rescued?

Though that's just my opinion, maybe you're right, but it's very very very unlikely... unless the civilization that is there is just ignorant and stupid.... and chooses not to acknowledge the fact that a plane crashed right near them or at least in the same vicinity....

If it wasn't an island wouldn't someone have seen the plane crash? I agree that they would have been rescued by now.

There's a movie called Cube.* That might be what they're referring to.* You can look at up on the Internet Movie Database ( www.imdb.com ) or on www.amazon.com
