When he was on the operating table after just wakin' up.... right before he said "Now go get Juliet" he said somethin' like...."This is not goin' to help anything" that was kind of a random phrase. It would have made sense if Jack and Tom were arguin' or some fight was goin' on but I couldn't figure out exactly what he was talkin' about. Maybe he meant "Killin' me isn't gonna help anything as powerful ,as I am I'm still low on the totem pole"?
I see it more as saying that arguing isn't going to solve the situation, as in in Ben's situation or Kate & Sawyer's.
I don't think he was concerned with threatening Jack right at that moment, he was more concerned with getting the op done.
Plus you have to realise he was slightly out of it on the anaesthetic, so it must have been quite an effort be be even vaguely comprehensible.
That's exactly how I took it too. I thought it was supposed to be sort of a funny line, like, here's this guy whose back is cut open and who has an hour to live and he WAKES UP during the surgery and hears everyone arguing, and all he says is "this isn't helping" (or whatever the line is). So calm, is Ben.

You've gotta admire his calmness in that situation.
He's got less than an hour to live, everyone is arguing, Juliet's plotting to kill him and he's bleeding all over the place. Personally, if it was me I'd be screaming.
Remember on the clip show they said, "Ben is *very* manipulative, and *very* dangerous." I believe that Juliet and Jack both wanted him dead and they were so close to putting that plan through, but even half loopy under anesthetic, paralyzed, upside down and under threat of death, Ben was able to think clearly enough to convince everyone to cooperate to save his life!!! I think when he woke up and listened to them for a few minutes and then said carefully, "This isn't helping", he knew exactly what he was doing.
