Welcome to this thread: an appreciation of the pairing that is Juliet and Sawyer.
I'm surprised that this pairing has been overlooked so far given the fact they are two
intriguing and
complex characters. Their interaction so far has been
brief but spectacular. Afterall there was literally
electricity in their first scene together. There is definite potential for the future development of what could be a
fascinating and
epic union.
A doctor and a con man?
A classic case of opposites attracting?.
Or are they so different in the first place?
Sawyer is the black sheep of the Losties. He keeps himself to himself most of the time. He has often been deplored as selfish and insensitive. In his chequered past he has betrayed, conned and even killed.
Juliet is an Other. An enemy by definition. But like Sawyer her inclusion to her group isn't quite so simple. Unlike Ben she has not lived on the island her whole life. She wants to leave and she will kill to get what she wants.
But it's not just a case of 'good is boring, bad is better', they are both complex characters with inner vulnerability and goodness.
Sawyer has done the right thing in the past, albeit often reluctantly. He has shown warmth and caring in his friendships with Kate, Jack and Jin among others. He has even risked his life, attempting to find rescue on the raft.
Juliet was introduced to show as the softer side of the Others. She seems to have developed an alliance of sorts with Jack, who both wish to reach home. She killed Pickett, saving the lives of Sawyer and Kate.
There is always the possibility that Juliet will formalise her alliance with the Losties, joining them. We are hopeful for future scenes between these two characters.
Especially in light of recent spoilers:
So we present: Suliet!
So your thoughts about Suliet's interaction so far, their differences and similarities and their potential for the future.
