One of the things I love about Hurley--and especially Hurley/Charlie scenes together--is the humor that is almost guaranteed to be injected into the scene. I was rolling when the first gunshot struck the tree behind them and they didn't move! It was like the scene in "The Jerk" when Steve Martin had bullets flying around hitting the oil cans behind him. I kept expecting Charlie to yell, "Quick, run away! Somebody is shooting at these trees!!!"

The scene with Hurley and Charlie being shot at in the forest was one of my faves from this episode. They both looked completely stunned, thought it was hilarious!

I want the writers to bring back the funny in their relationship.

Re: Charlie isn't to good...

Does anyone think that maybe Charlie has some hearing loss? He really couldn't hear the sling that Ethan used to hurl the rock at Jin, but Jin could here it. He also had a delayed reaction to the first gunshot and couldn't tell which direction it came from. Since he was in a rock band he could have damaged his hearing while playing live shows.

Very possible. Those shows can get LOUD! I think one of the guys in the WHO now has hearing loss because of the loud concerts. It could account for his crankiness as well.

Re: Charlie isn't to good...

I've never been shot at but most people believe it would never happen to them. After the first shot, I would look around and say was that a bullet and then after the second shot I would drop to the ground or run, depends on how quick the scare sets in. I think that's how both of them looked at each other.
