Hidden Smokes

i've been really troubled and been fixated with this one scene i've seen 2 years ago from lost. It was a regular scene from season one that shows the survivors going frantic by just arriving on the island via a plane crash.. when a familiar scene of a guy standing up and someone screaming "get down!!" but the guy gets vacuumed in the plane's engine and it blows up! now this very same scene.. i wasn't sure in what episode you could find this..
this was just made obvious to me by a korean friend.. he puts the scene in slow motion.
you'll see the guy gets vacuumed in.. but before this.. just look at the sky.. there's like a small cloud... a black smoke.. when suddenly changes its shape and becomes like a carpet-like object and hits the plane's engine making it explode... i have never heard this from other people in all my years of trying to look at lost blogs and spoilers.. now I wanted to know if there are any other hidden smokes in the other episodes that I haven't seen... let me know if you have already seen this.. and if there are other scenes like this one.

The thing that makes the engine explode is the person who gets sucked into it, if you actually watched the scene there was smoke everywhere, it was a plane crash. You'll also notice from watching the rest of the episodes that Smokey or wonderful smoke cloud monster is never seen out of the jungle, never, your friend is just seeing things that aren't there, there are also a few other sightings of black smoke in this episode but don't forget there was also a plane crash so chances are there would be all kinds of smoke floating around.

No, it's there. Right before the turbine explodes, play the scene in slow motion. You'll see an object swoop down from the top right of the screen and when it gets close to the turbine it explodes. Quite perplexing, really.

I can see something fly across the screen right before the guy gets pulled into the engine, is that what you guys are talking about?

Pretty sure that TPTB have confirmed that the Smoke Monster was not introduced till Season 2.
Any smoke scene was due to the crash itself and the burning bodies, plane and gas etc.

I know what image you're talking about, I've seen it screen caps a few times.
It's been so long I don't remember if it was in this forum or not.....but TPTB have said it's a queue marker for inserting FXs, like the explosion because there really wasn't one on set, it was added digitally later. Apparently some copies were produced where the marker wasn't deleted like it was supposed to be.
