As you all know, our Lost writers are walking the picket lines along with all of their fellow members of the WGA in order to get a fairer contract. To help support our writers and their fellow picketers, we’ll be taking donations for a Dharma-themed care package, boxed complete with our own logo and mini-parachute. If we collect enough as the strike continues, we’ll keep sending more packages!
Donations via
Paypal can be sent to
FuselageScribeSupport at gmail.com. We really, really prefer Paypal because it’s fastest and makes the accounting easy, but if you absolutely cannot use Paypal, contact me by PM and we’ll see what we can work out.
You don't have to spend money to participate -- in addition, we've set up a thread in the Lost Talk section
here where you can leave notes of support to be forwarded to the writers. Lastly, txvoodoo on livejournal compiled
a great list of addresses where you can send cards and letters to show your support for the writers’ issues and to urge the AMPTP to get back to negotiating with the WGA.
Feel free to share this information with any other Lost fans that you know that may want to help out! Thanks in advance for your support and we’ll keep you posted on our “airlifts”!
Added 11/14/07: Dharma Drop #1 is ready! thanks for the great response, everyone. The first package and round of notes will be dropped off tomorrow morning (Thursday 11/15) by our wonderful shopper and deliveryperson, Yu Kai-lin! Look for round #2 sometime after Thanksgiving, unless, of course, the strike ends.
Update 12/05/07: Dharma Drop #2 is ready to go! Intrepid deliveryperson Sam G will be dropping off the next care package and batch of notes on Thursday, December 6. Thanks again also to super shopper Yukailin. Thanks for the wonderful response everyone, and we're planning the next round for just before Christmas (unless we get what we want for Christmas of course -- a fair deal for the writers!).
Update 01/24/08: Dharma Drop #3 was delivered today by Sam G and Yukailin! Check out this post from Gregg Nations if you want to see what the writers (and not just our Lost writers) think of your support! We'd love for this to be the last, but we'll keep you updated.
If the strike ends before our next delivery (we can hope) any funds remaining will be donated to the WGA Industry Support Fund, which provides support to non-WGA members affected by the strike.
