We, at the Council of Elders , have found out very sad news today regarding our fellow poster, Save The Humans, whom we referred to as STH. After a couple of days without hearing from her, ame en peine, who had her contact info, did some digging and was able to find out that she passed away on Friday.
Below is ame's post in the Council:
Quote:
My Dear Elders,
I come to you with the worst possible news.
Our dear STH (Save the Humans) passed away on Friday 11/9.
I was able to locate her brother by finding her dad's obituary (she recently mentioned she was sad as it was his birthday). Her brother spoke to me for quite some time.
He said she was found unresponsive in the doorway of her apartment by a neighbor. Her blood pressure was severely low, and respirations shallow. The hospital did all they could, but were unable to save her. Cause of death was complications from diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
I will send a large bouquet from all of us to the funeral. He said he would keep in touch with that information. As well, I will search for the obituary.
This is such a huge, terrible loss. She was such a dear... I can't believe she's no longer with us.
STH...
Sending my love and prayers to you that you are resting peacefully my dear friend.
I will comment later on, but I'm just too sad right now to do so. Nevertheless, I wanted to open this thread so that others can express their thoughts to STH and her family. We will be sending your messages to her brother.
I'm going to grab my blankie and have a Linus moment... and hopefully won't offend anyone in the process, but here I go:
Save The Humans was a very deep and complex individual.
I am sad to see her gone.
I think she would feel very so loved at the concern everyone had for her in her absence and would also feel comforted that we (well, Ame) heeded her words of warning and was able to make contact with her brother in a relatively short period of time given the situation.
More than anything, people need love and STH got it here. The Fuselage and threads like this one, in her words, were "her lifeline." We are showing her love by our concern.
She, more than anyone, admitted that she was a depressed person and would freely admonish us for trying to convince her otherwise. That said, I don't think that she would want anyone feeling any guilt.
Despite her depression, in her last days STH voted, shopped, made plans to meet a friend for Thanksgiving, mailed cards and dug deep on her heart to realize the affect of loss in her own life. Not too long ago... she faced her fears in dealing with her teeth and we were so proud of her.
She was more productive than she let on.
STH had many worries. Her health, her finances, her future. She won't have to curse her finances again.
I am sad that she's gone. I am sad that she won't get to enjoy the holidays exactly like she wanted to. I am sad for her friend who will sorely miss her at her table next week. I am sad that more people won't get to experience STH as a friend.
I am going to close with some of her last quotes from this thread. Again, I hope won't offend anyone.

STH - you are loved, and I hope you know it, always.

Her posts on the Elders thread were so rich and funny...she was indeed a complex person...put everything out on the table...hid nothing from anyone...let us all in on her hopes, disappointments, loves, laughs, down times and up times...
I know she was really looking forward to Thanksgiving...how sad for her friends who were coming to town to spend it with her...
Thanks for opening this thread...
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
we all knew her on this board I think. Not too many can have come here and failed to notice her posts. She was always welcoming to the new posters on the board, and she seemed to me like someone who was trying to be in high spirits.
I will miss seeing her posts, and I'll remember her as the great and friendly poster that she were.
This is very sad news. I'll remember STH not only for her enthusiastic participation in this fandom and her love for the show, but more importantly for her unfailing warmth and generosity toward her fellow fans. She'll be very much missed by her many friends here.
My sincere sympathy to her family and friends. And to STH, I wish you peace and comfort.
