With the Oscars, Golden Globes, SAGs, and Spirit Awards just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to start up the...

ROLEPLAY AWARDS

2008

I conducted these awards last year, in a very hectic and confusing fashion, so this year I hope to be able to really lessen the amount of confusion so that everyone has a chance to get their voice heard.

HOW IT IS TO BE CONDUCTED:

To begin with, any awards show needs to have categories for people to win. Besides the ones used last year (Best Roleplay, Best Roleplayer, Best Ship, Best Character, and Most Original "Original Character") I would like some more. So I need people to send in their suggestions for categories they would like to see be considered!

As soon as that occurs, I need to assemble an impartial panel that will be used to do two things. The Roleplay Panel will 1) pick the best categories for the awards; and once things are nominated for each category, 2) pick 4 of these nominations to actually be in the running for each category. But to do that, we first need people to volunteer to be on the Roleplay Panel. You can do that here, in this thread, using the application below.

Next, we will publish the list of chosen categories and allow the public to nominate different ships, characters, and whatnot for each category. The panel, as mentioned before, will then pick the 4 best choices for each category and they will be displayed at a chosen date.

And finally, the people will vote! A simple application to be PM'd to me will be whipped up after the nominees have been announced. And all you have to do is vote!

CALENDER OF EVENTS:

01/02/08 – Submissions for Roleplay Categories will close.
01/04/08 – Roleplay Panel will be announced.
01/07/08 – Roleplay Categories announced, nominations begin.
01/11/08 – Nominations are closed.
01/14/08 – Official nominees are announced, voting begins.
01/18/08 – Voting ends.
01/21/08 – The winners are announced.

Best Team - (players who play really well off of one another)
Best Love Triangle/Square ( ok so i am in a few of these but they're fun!) ^_^

Do you think we should divide it into Best Roleplayer (Male) and Best Roleplayer (Female) like the real awards show do? That would make it so we can have a King and Queen of roleplay.

What about character awards?

They're both possibilities, but it may be hard for the character one. There are so many characters, and most people generally stick to the same ones in many different RPGs. Well, the Panel can decide... ^_^

Perhaps if not best individual character we could do best character in a specific group? i.e. best tailie, best other, best A-Team, best B-Team characters? just a suggestion for the panel
