Well Jack and Hurley were from L.A. so they would live there. And Kate, who knows why she chose L.A. I think whoever the other three are they'll be scattered around the globe.

I thought Jack was from Boston? I know he's a Boston Red Sox fan...maybe I just made an assumption...maybe I don't know wtf I'm talking about. LOL
St. Sebastian Hospital was in Los Angeles. If the people behind the freighter are powerful enough to cover up the other 40+ survivors they're powerful enough to monitor the Oceanic Six anywhere in the world.

Jack lives in LA. We are not told where he grows up as a child. It is possible that he grew up in the Northeast and his father got a position at St. Sebastians and the family moved, but since there is no indication of that, I feel that LA has always been his home.
Jack never said that he was a Sox fan, his father used to say "And that is why the Sox will never win the World Series", but Jack has never said if that was his favorite team or not, he jsut uses his father's quote.

When you say things like, "that's why the Sox will never win the World Series", it sure sounds like you're a fan of the team, but that you don't have faith in them anymore. To me it sounds like Jack had faith that the Red Sox would eventually win the World Series, but his father used it against him...which could be one reason why Jack loses some of his faith. He couldn't believe it when Ben told him the Red Sox won the Series.
James Sawyer, I like the idea that the red sox are a metaphor for Jack's lack of faith, interesting that they connected to his father, who is one of the reasons he doesn't have any faith.
Well, Jack was from LA, Hurley was from LA, Kate was being taken there by the Marshall... so I'm not sure what ties she would have there - unless it was part of an agreement that she made to stay out of prison that she remain in LA.
As far as the remaining 3 of the O6:
Spoiler:
2 of them are rumored to be Sun and Jin - I don't read spoilers enough to know, but I did see that rumored. Jin had business for Mr. Paik to conduct in LA and Sun would likely be going into labor soon after their arrival
As far as the last member, I have no idea who that could be.... some interesting trivia though: If the O6 are being forced to remain in LA for whatever reason, there are a couple of interesting things... Jack works (or worked) at St. Sebastian's hospital. St. Sebastian is known in biblical references to be a "protector from the plague" - and the more obvious one is that LA is known as "The City of Angels".... hmmmmm
Perhaps their residence has something to do with where Oceanic flies from in the States. I have questioned their overwhelming notority and perhaps they are under contract with Oceanic to do advertising and public appearances for the air line, which requires them to live in or around LA?
