I was there the other day. I was just about to make a thread about it before I saw somebody had beat me to it.
My mom's a graphic designer at SXSW
, so I get to go every year (lucky me!) If you guys haven't heard about Dom's new indie "Shooting Livien," it's about an up-and-coming rock band whose troubled frontman is Jason Behr. The lovely Mr. Monaghan plays none other than --- the band's wisecracking bassist! Sound familiar? When asked what attracted him to the role at the Q&A after the film, Dom cracked something like "I just wanted to play the bass player in a rock band for the rest of my life!" He seemed to enjoy himself at the premiere; I could only curse myself for not bringing a camera. :-[
The rest of the festival has been really fun, too. Unfortunately, I didn't arrived at the "Hooligans" premiere before it was sold out. But I caught the encore the other day, and it was great
. You guys, look out for this one whenever it gets distribution, it's definitely the best I've seen all week. "Shooting Livien" was pretty good too, though I was a little disappointed.
