I was there the other day. I was just about to make a thread about it before I saw somebody had beat me to it.
My mom's a graphic designer at
SXSW, so I get to go every year (lucky me!) If you guys haven't heard about Dom's new indie "Shooting Livien," it's about an up-and-coming rock band whose troubled frontman is Jason Behr. The lovely Mr. Monaghan plays none other than --- the band's wisecracking bassist! Sound familiar? When asked what attracted him to the role at the Q&A after the film, Dom cracked something like "I just wanted to play the bass player in a rock band for the rest of my life!" He seemed to enjoy himself at the premiere; I could only curse myself for not bringing a camera. :-[
The rest of the festival has been really fun, too. Unfortunately, I didn't arrived at the "Hooligans" premiere before it was sold out. But I caught the encore the other day, and it was
great. You guys, look out for this one whenever it gets distribution, it's definitely the best I've seen all week. "Shooting Livien" was pretty good too, though I was a little disappointed. Jason and Dom both turn in wonderful performances. And I gotta stop talking soon, because I'm getting into film columnist mode. Seacrest, out! (I've always wanted to use that

)
