The MetaConstant (The Constant of Constants)
ok. if any lostie wants to keep there sanity, they need to discover a constant in their lives. Something to ground them for the chaos and noise of temporal existence. The next logical move would be to ask the quesiton, what is the constant within the pattern of constants? They must be a unifying entity/theme/event to tie all the losties together? Moreover, this phenomenon must extend to 2010. What could it be?
Honestly, Although I'm not American, September 11, 2001 was the day the world changed for nearly everyone. It was our generations' JFK moment. So I'm conjecturing this is the unifying constant of constants. And in the final season we will see how this event has shaped the lives of the losties, and how it continues to shape their lives in 2010.
Everyone relates to 9/11 in their own way and depending on what side you're on. What's important is to recognize how all sides are morally ambiguous to an event. Thus no one is "right" or just, but we are all connected to the nexus of the event by how we let it shape and relate to our lives.
