Of course there are also the various relationships between those family members to talk about.
Is anyone else up for some Shephard family love?
Oh Dude can I join?!
I love all 3 characters! Woot Woot!!!
I think they both have a major connection to the mythology of LOST also. Claire was one of my favorites from the begining with RBA and have been really disappointed that they have back burned her as much as they have. I am hoping Kate having Aaron does not mean Calires death b/c that will be unforgivable by TPTB.
We already know from RBA that Aaron is important to the mythology of the show, Jack and Christian have been huge to it too.
I wonder if Claire will get visions of Christina like Jack did?
hmmm

I've always loved both episodes, but now I always rewatch Raised By Another and ATBCHDI together, as a two hour LOST movie and they're still two of the finest hours of the show. And knowing what I know now about Aaron and ghost!Christian, I can only hope Aaron's presence in the FF is the bridge back to the psychic's prophecy and not just the means for Kate to get out of jail.
Thanks, fg, I think this is the perfect time to theorize about the Shephards. My new favorite theory is that Aaron is a big part of the reason for Jack's desperate search for the Island in TTLG and that somehow, it was ghost!Christian that clued him in to the "work" he still has to do on the Island. When I saw Hurley being freaked out by ghost!Charlie, I thought it would be perfect to have dead-but-here Christian pay Jack a visit.
I think too, that this might explain Jack's "confusion" in TTLG - "You get my father down here..." (if, in fact, Christian is dead at all - give me a break, it's been weeks since I said he's alive, alive, alive....)
Sign me up, please.
I'd like to see how Claire & Jack relate once they know they're related.

You and I both. Don't feel like waiting a couple more seasons for that either.
I recently watched "Raised By Another" again, and noticied a possible continuity issue that suggests the writers hadn't planned on making Claire related to Christian back then (though it could be explained away)...but that sort of thing just seems to happen occasionally on this show (I remember Danielle claiming that Alex was her "son"). No big deal now...I just hope the Jack/Claire matter is explored soon. I figure Ben might know.

That’s another interesting question to ask:
Does Jack know Claire is his sister in the FF’s?
If yes, when and how did he find out?
Still on the island? Does Claire know too?
Or did it come out somehow after he’s back in the “real” world?
Spoiler for this week’s episode trailer:
Spoiler:
Claire is going to have at least one line!*throws a party*
And it looks like she is actually standing up to Locke. I know it could still play out very differently, but for now: You go Girl!

You mean her mom disowning her? I think it all depends on how important "special" children like Walt and Aaron were from the beginning. The writers have built the mythology around only a few fixed points, everything else is fluid. When it comes to Christian, the fact that:
a) Damon loved John Terry from the moment he appeared on the show (as did I)
and
b) he drives the fandom completely batty for some reason
...sealed the deal on this connection, along with Christian popping up everywhere. It works just fine for me so I'm grateful.

I think he does. I don't really know if it plays a part in the fact that he feels so guilty about the lie they're telling, but I figure he wouldn't be able to raise Aaron in that lie (especially since his real mom is probably still alive) either way, regardless of them sharing DNA.

There's a logical, easy, real life-type way. I don't think the writers are going to do it because it's not terribly dramatic. The Oceanic Six become international superstars. Their reasons for traveling to Sydney and their backgrounds will be extenssively reserached by journalists, blogs, etc. Jack's story of a son who went looking for his estranged father and found a dead body is going to resonate and Christian's name will make it into the papers. Even if they fake that part of the story as well (though I don't really see why), Christian's coffin was on the plane and someone will know.
Aunt Lindsey knows who Christian is and will put two and two together ASAP. She already knows Christian has another family in the US, she just didn't know Claire was on the same plane with her brother. I'm sure every family will react differently, but if I were her, I'd tell Jack about Claire, or at least tell someone. I'm sure it would make it into the media pretty fast.
My favorite theory though is that off Island Ben meets Jack after the rescue, meets all of the Oceanic Six as part of his deal with Sayid to "protect your friends" and tells Jack that one of those friends is his sister.

I think only Jack will find out at first. I don't know why, it's just a hunch.
I have no graphic skillz whatsoever, but I noticed this a while back and thought I should post it here as well.

I am still in the camp hoping Claire is still alive despite Kate having Aaron. I am going to be very disappointed if they do not follow through with this Jack/Claire family thing.

Speaking of which... Claire, you go girl! I loved the moxy she gave Locke. I'm thinking Miles might have a message for her from Charlie's spirit, although Daddy's ghost roams the Island too so you never know...

I am hoping Miles has a message for Claire from beyond the grave to Claire. I refuse to believe she is so unemotional to Charlies death. Plus we know Claire is a hippie chick who loves the paranormal and psychics so her talking to Charlie through miles could serve a few purposes:
1) Bring back the Claire of season one who was not a red shirt with a few more lines then them.
2) Give us more emotion from Claire over Charlies death. As a fan of the show, the C/C relationship of season one, Charlie and Claire seperately the writers so far have really angered me with how they handled Charlies death and Claires response to it. This could purge her emotions about it and give her and us as an udience closure on it.
3) After Raised by another the parellels with those scenes could be awesome.
One of the biggest complaints I have about the quality of season one being better then the other seasons is season one actually used its entire cast pretty equally and we had more Claire.
I loved seeing Claire stand up to Locke. Its like the mouse who roared like a lion.

No...
In "RBA," Claire mentioned that her dad used to sing to her when she was little (when meeting the couple), but in "Par Avion," she tells the cop that (as far as she knows) her dad died when she was 2.
The dad she's referring to in "RBA" can't be Christian, because she doesn't remember any childhood experiences with him when they sit down and have their talk.
The "RBA" comment could be explained away by stating that she had a stepfather at some point.

Don’t get me started on this!
I really hope there’s something behind Claire acting like Charlie and their relationship didn’t exist other than bad writing and TBTB not caring about her and how much this behavior hurts her character.

Possibly. I don't know. Sorry...I'm a bit sleepy.
Sorry, but I disagree with you here.
From Par Avion:
Quote:
CHIRSTIAN: Well, because I, no doubt, left her with so many wonderful memories. Look, we had a fling, I was back in Los Angeles, and she told me she was pregnant, that she was going to have the baby, have you.
CLAIRE: And you didn’t want to see me?
CHRISITAN: No, no, I came out a bunch of times when you were little. I stayed over, I gave you toys, I sang to you.
If I remember correctly, Claire smiles to herself after that, like she remembers Christian singing to her and it’s a happy memory.
So I think she was talking about our Doctor Shephard Sr. in RBA.
I wonder if he sang to little Jack too…and I have this picture in my head of Ghost!Christian appearing to Claire on the island singing Catch a falling star, which is both creepy and hilarious.
