NY Film shooting this summer looking for 3D animator!!!!
Seeking 3D animators to provide animation for low budget independent feature film SYNAPSE - shooting in June in NYC with stars Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan.

SYNAPSE is about a young video animator who falls in love with a neuroscientist and tries to use her imagination and his theories about the brain to stay connected when he moves to Japan. In humorous and poignant ways, the story grapples with the uncertainties of perception and the possibilities of love.

We are looking for approximately 30 seconds of animation of a 3D online game in progress called SPACE JUMP ( a ski jumper jumps into outer space encountering fantastical obstacles) and 10 seconds of an existing game (or animation that looks like one). Great opportunity for exposure and potential for future involvement in the online marketing campaign and the film (set visits, invitations to screenings etc).

Thanks for posting this moffel. I meant to earlier but didn't have the time. I have the actual source links for those who want to check them out.

This first one is the link to the film's production company, showing it listed as one of the projects currently in production (no mention of the cast).

This next one is the actual message board for the International Game Developer's Association where you'll see the job listing for a 3D animator to help with the film (scroll down to find). This is where Dom and Evie get a mention.

I'll keep a watch on the production site to see if any more news develops. Dom and Evie are currently in Austria for the World Cup so it's not filming now, even though it says June. They may be waiting to see what happens with the SAG strike.

First of all, you're welcome.

And they are in Austria for the European Championship. The World Cup took place two years ago in Germany(Dom was there, too) and the next one will be 2010 in South Africa. This year is the European Championship in Austria/Switzerland...And with England not being qualified one can only guess that Dom is there to support the German Team
